Surfboard vouchers
Buying a surfboard as a present? Not sure which one to buy but don't want to give the game away by asking?
Don't worry because we may have the solution. We're proud to be launching our very own surfboard voucher scheme making the process of buying a surfboard as a gift, a lot easier.
We've joined up with local legend and pioneering surfboard shaper Graeme Bunt. Born and bred in North Cornwall, Graeme has been surfing for nearly 30 years now and shaping for well over 20 years, providing hand crafted surfboards for surfers throughout the country. Graeme says : "Surfing has taken me around the world, trips to South America and North America, South Africa, USA, Europe and the Canary Islands, have helped me understand the needs of travelling surfers as well as local surfers. Whether you are surfing in England or around the World I can make the right boards for you and that is essential. You know it will be made of the best materials available and by a team of professional craftsmen."
So how does it work? Well lets say the scenario is this: Sarah wants to buy a surfboard for her boyfriend Dan who wants to take the next step from hiring boards to owning his own intermediate board. The best solution is to buy a 'mini-mal' surfboard, but unless Sarah knows exactly what size, design and colour he wants, this is difficult without asking him and giving the game away.
Instead, she logs onto ollypop surf and:
1. Chooses either a) 7'2" or 7'6" or, b) 8'0" surfboard voucher (depends on his weight, see guide under voucher image).
2. Buys a surfboard voucher which is sent 1st class with a free ollypop surf towel.
3. When Dan recieves his voucher he logs onto ollypopsurf voucher 'request form' (as printed on his voucher) to choose the design and colours for his custom made surfboard.
4. He can then email his design specs and reference code to ollypop. We will phone him back as soon as possible to discuss his requests further.
5. Dan's exact requirements are then passed onto Local Hero Surfboards and he can expect his board to be ready within about 3 weeks.
Dan can choose from the following designs in four different colours - blue, red, yellow and green.
Each board is carefully hand-crafted to a matt-finish.
